November POM: Bryan Bosshardt
|
This month was a very tough decision for me - The top 4 players all had incredible months this time. I decided against Rayan because he was mostly tying old WRs to catch up on his total. Then I compared Clemens to Boss, and Clemens seemed to follow in Boss' footsteps - I consider the initial accomplishments to be stronger. Illu had 4 WRs, but one was a repeat - granted his other 3 were untied, Boss also had 3 untied WRs, one of which brought us under the historic 20:00 agent time barrier, and the other two being incredibly strong times. Many incredible WRs were set this month, but the nod has to go to Boss for his outstanding accomplishments this month. Link: POM history for previous winners and overall standings
WR Setters this Month
November Summary It will be hard for me to do justice for this historic month, not being a GE player myself - however I follow enough and have been involved with the community long enough to recognize the quality of the WRs this month. Within the first week of the month, we knew it would be historic. Boss and Clemens both tied Ryan White's incredible Silo A 1:03, a long standing strong WR. However the big guns came out on November 6th, when Bryan Bosshardt broke the 20:00 agent barrier with a 1:02 Caverns A run. We all knew this was possible, but many players had put in many hours to get this time. 35 1:03s had been set, and as a result 34 players lost a WR. Luckily, most of these players also had Depot A 0:26, so not many were wiped completely off of the leaderboards! Bryan quickly extended his Caverns knowledge to SA, setting a very strong 1:21 time. Later in the month, Boss capped his month with a final untied of Runway 00A 0:36, stealing what was an incredible tie by Adam Bozon. Ilari Pekkala had plans of his own - traditionally he waits for others to struggle to tie his Jungle and Aztec WRs before demolishing them again. Last months Jungle activity was a reminder to him, and Illu came back with a vengeance, claming two untieds on Jungle as well as an untied on Aztec A. Illus 0:56 Jungle 00A ties what was an untied SA WR just a month ago! Not lost among the untied madness was David Clemens, bringing in the most WRs this month with 6. He tied a handful of very strong WRs, many what would have been untieds just months ago. These include 1:03 on Silo A 2 days after Boss, 1:21 Caverns SA, 0:50 Depot 00A and 1:02 Caverns A at the end of the month, wiping off of two of Boss' untieds. Rayan Isran also flew under the radar, picking up 5 WRs, including a tied Cradle sweep. Henning Blom (SII A 49), Rafael Lanfredi (Dam A 53) and a strong comeback time by Randy Buikema (Runway A 22) round out our incredible 24 WRs this month.
The elite total time changes from 1:14:37 to 1:14:31!
