December POM: David Clemens
|
David Clemens gets this GEWRM POM for his historic overtaking of two of the longest lasting WRs the-elite has seen. Karl Jobst set Archives 0:55 on January 17th/18th of 2006. Nearly two years later and 17 ties later, Clemens eclipsed the mark with 0:54 on both Archives difficulties. 17 players lost 2 WRs, and the WR table takes yet another hit in total WRs (after last months Caverns 1:02 stripped most of these players of a WR as well!). Many other strong WRs in consideration, Clemens also had the most WRs and most untied WRs this month, closing the gap between him and Bryan to 7 WRs. Make sure to check out the POM history linked below for the Winter 2007 awards, considering October-November-December of the year. Link: POM history for previous winners and overall standings
WR of the Month: Jungle A 0:51 (Ilari Pekkala)
WR Setters this Month
December Summary I pick up where the POM mention left off - It took half the month for things to really heat up with the pair of 054s. Before that, Ilari Pekkala poked his head in to finish his Jungle re-sweep of untieds - with an agent time of 0:51. Bryan Bosshardt also started his month with a strong 0:22 B1SA, but the most amazing thing about his December was the nearly immediate (read: within a week!) ties of 0:54 on both difficulties! Henning Blom deserves incredible credit for first tying Surface 2 00A at 1:28, then taking only one day to capture his first untied WR. While it only lasted 2 days (see: David Clemens ties it on the 30th), this pickup helped Henning slip into the top 10 in WR total. Scattered throughout was Axel Zakrisson with the monthly Runway SA 023 and Eddie Lovins popping his head in after a retirement with Archives 16 on the Agent difficulty.
The elite total time changes from 1:14:31 to 1:14:27!
