May POM: Bryan Bosshardt
There is no question about the POM in May. This is the single greatest month by a player in GEE history. Bryan "bigbossman" Bosshardt lived up to his nickname with 6 untied WRs, and 11 total WRs set in his triumphant return to dominating at the-elite. While he never lost his lead, Illu had closed to the gap in points (?? many) and to 4WRs between the two. Now over a dozen WRs seperate them. While specific WRs will be recapped below, it should be noted that Boss already had some of the greatest WRs at the-elite. That means that for him to grab 11 more, he must be shattering some of the-elite's longest standing and strongest WRs - many tied by multiple players. WR Setters this Month
May Summary Untied WRs: (in a loose chronological order) Ryan White held the previous 2 untieds on Silo 00A: 131 and 130. He sets another mark (hopefully not his last!) at 129, a truly astounding WR and several seconds over anybody who has tried to come close. He also has the second untied on the month, Surface2A at 0:50. 7 top players lose a WR to Goose. Bryan Bosshardt took 15 days to set an untied this month. His first was on Statue A - first he tied the "common" 219 SA/00A. The 219 is much easier on these difficulties, and 220 stood for two YEARS before that was even tied. Boss has set the untied on this level every second of the way, since 223 in march 2003. Only 4 players had 220 and 219 is an astounding mark. Boss' next level was Egyptian. He already has 46 on A, and 7/8 players hold 47 at SA/00A respectively before Boss finally finishes off the 46 sweep. 6 players each held Surface 1 1:50 on SA/00A. Boss strafes faster than them all and quickly nabs 1:49 on each. His final WR of the month cut the most time from anywhere. Remember that 4 players each somehow ended up with 1:42 on Caverns 00A? Such a high variance level, hard to even live, yet each top completion always was the same time with different mistakes. Boss knew - and nailed a much cleaner, MUCH faster 1:38! With few untied WRs left to grab, who else to get them but one of the-elite's finest Ilari Pekkala. Mr Aztec takes 3 seconds off the-elite total time, improving his already untied (and untied by a large margin..) WRs to 140 on SA and 145 on 00A.
Other Notables:
The elite total time changes from 1:15:11 to 1:14:57! |
